In your own words, describe your career.
My profession has a great emphasis on organizational talent. From my initial entry into the corporate world as an HR professional supporting employee navigate through employment processes and procedures, to Recruiting highly qualified talent into our organization, and now as a DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) professional ensuring current and future talent have equitable access to resources and opportunities, I have always felt my calling and purpose is to create avenues of professional success.

Who/what influenced or inspired you? Javay Young
Growing up in the Bayview District, a predominately Black community in San Francisco, it was not until I went to college when I understood the marginalization and disparities in health, wealth, and careers in our community due to years of systemic issues. This fueled my drive to work on strategies that create equity in recruiting and hiring processes.

What do you love most about your job? What are its biggest challenges?
I love that both the recruiting and DEI aspects of my role have an influence on the success of our organization. The diverse talent hired brings a variety perspectives and innovative ideas to the table. Not only are able to create processes for selecting the right talent without bias, but also attract an array of professionals that drive creativity.
